In the past, my kids would groan when I told them that it was time to head out to my parent's place for a visit. They hated getting loaded up in the car and riding for eight hours squished up next to each other. My sister suggested that we take a train out one time to see if the kids did any better. It was an amazing trip. I didn't have to hear them cry and complain the whole time, and I knew that I had found a new way to get to my parent's house without wanting to turn around before we even got there.
